2024 Brainstorm Walk/Run Registration

You can help to make a difference in the life of someone with epilepsy!

Through education, direct services, advocacy and epilepsy prevention campaigns, Epilepsy Families SEWI is dedicated to serving those affected with epilepsy and other seizure disorders to find an improved quality of life. Epilepsy is the medical term used to describe the more than 20 conditions characterized by recurrent seizures. Epilepsy can affect anyone at any age, at any time. Just ask the 59,000 individuals affected by epilepsy in Wisconsin, and the 44-50% of those diagnosed with epilepsy whose seizures are not medically controlled at this time.

The money raised from Epilepsy Families' annual Brainstorm Run/ Walk for Epilepsy Awareness helps us to provide needed services and programs for people and their families living with epilepsy.

5K competitive timed race

3K Walk is stroller and dog friendly.

Schedule

  • Packet pick-up (pre-registered) and race day registration starts at 7:30 am
  • Light breakfast available before the race
  • Race starts at 9:00 am
  • Kids Fun Run for children 9 and under(registration required), does not include a t-shirt starts at 10:15 am
  • Grilled lunch and family activities 11am 
  • Medals for top runners in all age categories presented at 11 am

Individual Entry Fees and Registration:

  • $30 Special - last year's t-shirt, while supply lasts
  • $35.00 per entry by May 31st ages 13 & up
  • $40.00 per entry after May 31st, ages 13 & up
  • $25.00 per entry ages 6-12 (last year's t-shirt)
  • Free Kids Fun Run for children 9 and under(registration required), does not include a t-shirt starts at 10:15 am
  • Includes: T-Shirts and grilled lunch

Team Entry Fees and Registration:

  • Team Captains must register first and submit team name design (in black) and pay a one-time $35.00 fee for its imprinting before May 15, 2024
  • Teams must be 5 or more people
  • Team member registration required by 3pm on May 15, 2024 in order to receive a Team logo T-Shirt
  • $40 per team member ages 13 & up
  • $30 per youth team members ages 6-12
  • Free Kids Fun Run for children 9 and under(registration required), does not include a t-shirt starts at 10:15 am
  • Team members can sign up and pay individually
  • Includes: T-Shirts and Grilled lunch

You can register as a walk/run team member before May 15, 2024 at 3pm.and get a logo team t-shirt

      New team members who register after May 15th, will receive a t-shirt without the team logo.

Race day registration begins at 7:30 am -

  • $45 (t-shirt has limited availability and a grilled lunch is included)

Participant Waiver

The person and/or persons named on this registration form wishes to participate in the Brainstorm 3K Walk/5K Run (Event) on 6/30/24 in Milwaukee, WI. Those who have made this possible - Epilepsy Families Southeast Wisconsin, the Milwaukee County Park System, the County & City of Milwaukee and the Event Sponsors, volunteers and officials (collectively, the "Organizers") wish to ensure to the fullest extent possible that they will not be sued or held liable for injuries or damages sustained to participants or those attending the Event. In return for being allowed to participate in the Event, I/we agree and acknowledge as follows: 1.) Participation and attendance at walking and running events as well as activities carries with it some risk of serious injury including, in rare cases, death. The risks include but are not limited to those caused by overexertion, vehicular, the course, bodies of water, equipment, Organizers, spectator and other participants; 2.) I/we assume all risk of participating and attending this event; 3.) I/we understand the Organizers of the Event are relying upon the agreements and representations I/we make here; 4.) I/we release the Organizers of the Event from all claims, including negligence claims and claims relating to personal injury or property arising out of this, my/our participation or attendance at this Event, except, I/we do not release reckless or intentional tort claims; 5.) I/we agree to indemnify the Organizers if I/we or anyone else brings a claim against the Organizers due to injuries I/we receive due to my participating or attending the Event ("indemnity" here means to reimburse the Organizers for any sums they have to pay and expenses/fees they incur to any injury claim relating to me); 6.) I/we give permission for the free use of my name and picture in any broadcast, print media account, or promotion of this Event; 7.) I/we have carefully read this document and understand it. If I/we am under 18 years of age, my/our parent or guardian is signing on my/our behalf, and my/our parent or guardian also agrees to indemnify the Organizers if I/we or anyone else brings claims against the Organizers due to injuries I/we receive due to my/our participating or attending the Event. With knowledge of the risks involved and the rights I/we give up, I/we waived the rights I/we might otherwise have, and freely sign this agreement document.
